Ok Guys, I have another story I would like to share. Give me your opinions once you read it!!
Dreaded Wishes
Once upon a time there was a Boy and his Father. The boy's name was Sulabhdas while his Father's name was Takatsingh. But their names had no bearing on their actual characters. For young Sulabhdas nothing was- as his name implied in Hindi- easy. He did not learn to walk so easily, each time his legs came up they stood for a moment or two then in a weird kind of way started wobbling and fell down. He did not learn to walk until the age of 5. Sulabhdas also had difficulty in school. He couldn't answer easy questions like 1+1 or 2+2. It was very hard for him. However, Sulabhdas was equally mischevious. He often stole a rupee or two from his Father, Takatsingh to buy sweets. Those delicious sweets made his senses quiver. He let his mind take over him and could not bear the temptation. He would start tantrums and yell at his Father to get one. His Father would be quiet as they were in public and when they got home would hit him as hard as his strength allowed him. But Takatsingh was nothing as his name was. Instead of being a powerful man with muscles ripping out of his shirt and a well built body, he was frail and feeble and walked around with a stick to support him. But he loved making his son miss fun and only study. Once, for example, there was a great circus coming to Kolkata, the finest in all of India. Subhaldas was longing to go to it and watch the clown crack jokes and the monkey walk a tightrope. On the Big Day, the D-Day, when the circus came to town, Subhaldas was longing not to go to school. When Takatsingh saw his son lazily relaxing in bed he shouted "What are you doing!!!! You have school today!! Get up you lazy boy otherwise I will hit you with the bamboo stick!!" Subhaldas replied " Oh Father, Oh great ruler of the house, I have a toothache and cannot go to school." Takatsingh understood that this was one of his son's mischevious tricks and said "Oh, ok so if you can't go to school then you can't go to the fair ok. And maybe your friend Prahlad can have all the toffees and chocolates I bought you." Subhaldas was in shock and said "OK, OK I am going to school." But Takatsingh was delighted by seeing the horror on his son's face. He slammed the door and locked it up so that his son could not come up. Subhaldas was very sad. He cursed and cursed his father under his father and wondered how wonderful it would be if he became his father. At the same time, Takatsingh was wishing he could go back to his childhood as he thought that his mother and father had pampered him to much and he would study very hard. Now at that time the Lady of Wishes was passing Takatsingh's house. She told both of them that their wishes would be granted and the next morning son would be father and father would be son. On the next morning, Takatsingh and Subhaldas were equally delighted. They had both switched their bodies successfully!! Subhaldas wanted to eat sweets immediately so he shouted at a servant to get him a rupee's worth of chocolates from the market. He sucked them through his toothless gums. He then went to play with his friends but they ran away at the very sight of him. Subhaldas then remembered that he was his father and his friends were very scared of his father. Takatsingh also was suffering miserably. Now that he was a child again, he had no wish to study and only wanted to play. But Subhaldas was not going to let his father play. It was revenge time for him and made his father go according to his word- to study day and night. In the day he made him do math sums on his slate. In the evening he made him recite poems from Kalidasa's Ramayana. Subhaldas was also getting many complaints from his teacher about his young father. Once, for example in class Takatsingh had said in class to his teacher "Give me the Hookah, I'd like to smoke."
His Father would also get sick many times and Subhaldas would stuff him with unnecessary medicines. Subhaldas was also in a bad mood. When he was a child, he imagined that if he was his father he would dive into lakes and climb up trees but he couldn't do that. When he jumped in the lake he felt very cold and came back home with a cold and if he tried to climb trees he would fall down on every try. Both Father and Son were getting tired of this and prayed to the Lady of Wishes to make them there original selfs again. The Lady of Wishes heard their desperate calls and granted their wishes again. In the morning, father and son were back in their original bodies. They were overjoyed and danced around, making an oath that they would never be mean to each other again.
The End
